Bush Job Approval Unchanged by War Speech

07.01.2005

It seems that Americans are no longer impressed by Bush's liberal usage of the word "freedom". Despite Tuesday night's speech, Bush's approval ratings continue to fall. According to the latest Zogby poll, the President's approval rating is now at an all-time low of 42 percent. In addition, 2/5th of Americans now support impeaching the president.

We best brace ourselves, for the great elephant will soon come crashing down. As was sung by Jimmy Cliff, the harder they come; the harder they fall; one and all.

Abstract of Bush's Speech

If you missed Bush's speech, here's a one sentence abstract written by Tom Tomorrow:

We really screwed the pooch, and now you have no choice but to let us try to clean up the mess.

For Bush, Spring has Sprung

04.25.2005

Ah, spring time! Like the Texas bluebonnets, love is blooming. And Atrios is right, there is nothing wrong with this.

Stupid Bush Tricks

03.27.2005

At a press conference, Bush was asked to clarifiy how his social security plan would fix the crisis. His answer is mind blowing: THE PRESIDENT: Because the -- all which is on the table begins to address the big cost drivers. For example, how benefits are calculate, for example, is on the table; whether or not benefits rise based upon wage increases or price increases. There's a series of parts of the formula that are being considered. And when you couple that, those different cost drivers, affecting those -- changing those with personal accounts, the idea is to get what has been promised more likely to be -- or closer delivered to what has been promised. Does that make any sense to you? It's kind of muddled. Look, there's a series of things that cause the -- like, for example, benefits are calculated based upon the increase of wages, as opposed to the increase of prices. Some have suggested that we calculate -- the benefits will rise based upon inflation, as opposed to wage increases. There is a reform that would help solve the red if that were put into effect. In other words, how fast benefits grow, how fast the promised benefits grow, if those -- if that growth is affected, it will help on the red. Okay, better? I'll keep working on it. (Laughter.) Yes, sir.

The Tenderness and the Temptation

02.14.2005

I was so deeply moved by this photograph of George W. Bush that I decided to create a work of art out of it. I'm dedicating this piece (it is Valentine's, right?) to all of you shinny, happy, well-sexed couples out there. I hope you find true love in those chalky little hearts, and 4 dollar sub-pornographic gift cards that exploit the love affairs of childern. Fuck Hallmark, and their holiday... that's right: I said it.

Love,Nick  (Kisses!)

The Photographs that Define our Times

02.14.2005

I don't believe this. I've actually found a picture of someone fiddling with President Bush's fly. However, for me, its "Mr. Small Personal Bubble's" red face that makes this photo a truly magnificent addition to my collection. One does wonder why he appears to be so happy... Perhaps he's next in line?

For the first time, statistics show world's dislike of Bush translating into dislike of Americans in general

01.20.2005

The Guardian (UK) reports:

A poll of 21 countries published yesterday - reflecting opinion in Africa, Latin America, North America, Asia and Europe - showed that a clear majority have grave fears about the next four years.

Fifty-eight per cent of the 22,000 who took part in the poll, commissioned by the BBC World Service, said they expected Mr Bush to have a negative impact on peace and security, compared with only 26% who considered him a positive force.

The survey also indicated for the first time that dislike of Mr Bush is translating into a dislike of Americans in general.
