Rainbow Parties: Pathological Fantasies of the Sexually Repressed

07.01.2005

File this recent story from the NYTIMES under "WTF?":

As explained in a new paperback novel for teenagers from Simon & Schuster, rainbow parties are group oral sex parties in which each girl wears a different shade of lipstick, and each guy tries to emerge sporting every one of the various colors.

Mr. Nerney, who gives presentations on adolescent risk-taking nationwide, said he first heard about rainbow parties about three years ago in Westchester County. He believes these parties do take place and usually involve middle school girls and older boys.

Mr. Nerney also totally lost his virginity last summer to this really hot chick who lives out of state. I know he's telling the truth, because he has a picture of her!

But seriously folks... only a sexually repressed 37-year-old-virgin conservative could ever think that "Rainbow Parties" were for real. Their repressed sexuality becomes pathological; they begin to have obsessive, and debraved delusions about the sex lives of 14-year-olds. Its sick... and yet I can't help but laugh. People are just so strange, sometimes.

Rainbow Parties:

Blaming the parents? Bullshit! how about placing it on the media?-- the source of this

pathological fantasies...maybe

I'm second year at Uvic and I just wanted to point out that while the coverage this rainbow party sensation is getting totally blows out of proportion the actual occurence, they do happen. I know people who've gone to them. Just so ya know ;) This here, though, has got moral panic written all over it. And maybe some pathological fantasies. I'm not too sure.

pathological fantasies...maybe

I do know this... people are very prone to lie about their sex lives. Obviously, someone, somewhere, at sometime may have done something like this... but people do lots of really strange stuff -- sometimes involving goats and rabits. The idea that this is a widespread occurance is humbug. I think it noteworthy for no other reason than crazy people think its noteworthy. Besides, even if they are happening, we should remember that the same people appalled by it are the people who raised these kids in the first place. And there are two conclusions from there: 1. these kids are evil, and its their fault, and they need to be told how bad they are. 2. Thse childern are the product of adults, and we should take responsibility for what we've created. Nah... I've met too few adults to ever expect that to happen.
