Hitler finds out that that Panels might not be ready for Drupal 7.0 at a recent Hitler's Drupal Users meetup.

it's no loss as far as I'm
it's no loss as far as I'm concerned. panels hasn't been stable enough for production since the 5.x version of 1.x. i've yet to find a case where anything i wanted to do in panels 2.x or 3.x couldn't be done more simply and with a shallower learning curve by using other modules or coding the pages from scratch. (To put it in hitler-slang: panels has too much brains and balls for it's own good. that's all it is, brains & balls, no attention to stability, upgrade paths or usability.)

Though I actually find the new dashboard a complete pain and just want to turn it off and use the old navigation menu rather then spending five minutes trying to navigate from Menus(admin/structure/menu) to Blocks(admin/structure/blocks) and trying to figure out where the heck to manage content types.

Heh. Hitler and I unfortunately agree on all of the videos points too -- not sure how that happened...
Its got a new workflow that involes the shortcuts feature. This is much different from what we are used to (big giant drop down with stuff all over the place and multiple browser tabs open for efficency) but I maintain its an improvement. After playing with it for 30 mintues there's no doubt that that its an improvement - but also no doubt that it will seem jarring to those who've become accustomed to what it is a crap workflow. (i was initially pissed too, but seriously -- give the shortcuts a try)

If this video would have been newly synchronized like the star wars viral marketing thing I'd say it is very funny. But the original text is a bit too much and I really can't laugh about it as I am from Germany. Without audio its okay.
And the message from the video it self is a sad one and if this happens I will stuck with D6 much longer.

Hilarious, especially if you consider the parallels between the subtitle and the real text!
But I had to watch it nearly three times, once to read the subtitle, once to listen, and once to realise that I can't do both at the same time :D

Years from now when they start teaching our school children how to write a subtitled Hitler movie, they will teach it as a step by step process. The first step is to replace the actual dialogue with something regarding the subject which you want Hitler to rant about it in a caption program. The result will is always unfunny, but that's okay: the most important thing however is that you can watch Hitler deliver your lines as you write them and have a guide for at least the emotion of the moment (the acting is fantastic). So similiarities to the real dialogue are no coincidence!
I'll probably write an article on how to create these videos sometime -- but i'm all Hitlered out for now lol. If you do make one of these, prepare to be subjected to several hours of hitler yelling.
