I just found out that I've been selected as one of 10
nominees for the 2005 Dewey Winburne Community Service Award at SXSW Interactive. The award, which has been given annually for 12 years, honors those who use technology in a grass-roots fashion to help level the playing field between the haves and

It is 5:30 in the AM, every muscle hurts. Not only did I complete my substantial move, but I also evicted the previous occupant (evicted in the sense of putting all of their shit outside). This boy was materialistic too... cast iron headboards, over a hundred pounds of clothing, large bookshelfs, golf clubs, shot guns, hunting fatigues... lots of hats, a giant dresser... and then I got to move all of my stuff upstairs. The good news is I've found a wireless network from some mysterious source... hints I'm talking to ya'll. I just hope the owner of the connection doesn't figure it out. I leave you with today's offical index:
Number of times shotguns were brought up in conversations through out the day: 13
Amount of time I spoke with the evicted roommate: 2 seconds
I see boxes. The boxes are everywhere. I've surrounded myself with great towers of boxes.
I began the process of moving to a new location today. Phase two commences tomorrow, in which I actually ship it all out. During a two hour break today, I also built the foundations for the new civicspace driven Austin Wireless Network. But now, I must return to putting objects in boxes. Ah... how fond I am of these boxes.
Enter the 1962 Jazz masterpiece, Money Jungle. The players: Duke Ellington on the piano, Charles Mingus on the bass, and Max Roach on the drums... If you are a jazz fan, you're probably already sold by mere account of the album's lineup. However, even without the giant names on the CD cover, I would still say that this is some of the best god damn jazz that I'd ever heard.
